Apple recipes anyone!
By: Lauren Banik
Autumn weather snuck up on us this past weekend, which put me in the mood (not only to shop for warm clothes!) but to try out some new yummy apple recipes!
Grab the family, spend the day at your local orchard, and experience picking your own apples! Usually the orchards have a “festival” on the weekends w/wagon or hay rack rides, inflatables, kettle corn, face painting, etc!
Check out what orchards may be near you:
Don’t you just love walking into your home and smelling warm apples w/cinnamon baking in the oven! You almost have to “welcome” the season by baking some sort of appley-goodness!
Here are some recipes that I’m going to be trying over the next couple of weeks, Enjoy!
Perhaps for breakfast you could try Carmelized Apple Waffle Pastries with Cinnamon Whipped Cream! It’s pretty simple, you’ll basically caramelize the apples, make waffles using puff pastry, and whip the cream! I made this one first and it was indeed a hit!!
If you’re looking for something a little bit more “transportable” so your kiddos can take them for their school lunch…Try baking some ooey-gooey goodness such as these Caramel Apple Cupcakes!
After baking those, maybe you need to fit into your skinny jeans again!! Take a break by eating a bit more healthy – Baked Apple Chips!! Crazy easy and something your kiddos can help you with!
Okay, here’s a more lengthy recipe… Salted Caramel Apple Hand Pie! Are they not super cute? It’d make a thoughtful gift for a neighbor or co-worker that says “Hi, I’m thinking of you!”
Or maybe you just want to sit back and let the Crock Pot finish the work! Not to mention the house will smell awesome in the morning…and you’ll leave the house smelling like a walking Apple Strudel! Try this Crockpot Apple Butter
