We would like to thank everyone that donated items for Warm a Neighbor during January!
From Jen Rothenbuehler of Presentation Sisters:
“The JOY that you have brought to the faces of the newly arrived immigrants receiving these warm winter items is so wonderful, and shows so much hospitality as they make their new homes in Sioux Falls and the surrounding areas. We would like to thank Life 96.5, HyVee, and everyone that donated items for Warm a Neighbor. Here’s what was collected:
Men’s – Hats (17), Gloves (19), Socks (63), Coats (1)
Women’s – Hats (81)(35 of these were homemade), Gloves (23), Scarves (55)(20 homemade), Socks (15), Coats (2), Boots (1), Slippers (1)
Children – Hats (42)-many of these were homemade as well, Gloves (91), Scarves (24), Socks (4), Coats (9)
We also had 44 gently used coats that we were able to utilize, and 8 head wraps that were homemade.
A couple of highlights:
Bev dropped off two homemade hats at the booth at HyVee, and wanted confirmation that they were “good enough”, beautiful hats!! She plans to make more throughout the year and drop off to Caminando Juntos.
Pastor Dawn Quame from Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN and Faith Lutheran in Avoca, MN collected items as a project within their congregations to donate to help Warm a Neighbor!
Thank you SO much for your partnership with Warm A Neighbor again this year. What an amazing response!”
