Operation Prom Dress 2017
For lots of high school girls, Prom is looked forward to for months, even years! When they finally attend, nothing short of a magical experience is expected. Prom memories will be a big part of their high school experience. For girls who plan to attend their school’s event or even Prom at another school, having a beautiful dress, accessories, and all the beauty treatments are considered essential.
Operation Prom Dress (OPD) weaves ministry into the whole experience, and the girls who attend the 2-day pre-prom event learn how attractiveness starts on the inside. High school girls that attend are able to pick out a FREE dress and accessories. If you are a HS girl who would like to be pampered and take advantage of this opportunity, you’ll need to Register.
On March 24 and 25, high school girls will fill the rooms and hallways at Lincoln Hills Bible Church and be treated to a big dose of Christ’s love and kindness, all through the service and TLC (tender, loving care!) of volunteers!
If you would like to be a part of OPD 2017, there are two ways you can join in:
Sharing Resources: Many prom dresses are donated and are used for OPD’s famous Dress Giveaway. Most needed are the larger size dresses (size 18 and higher). They can be brought to Lincoln Hills Bible Church (5401 S. Cliff Ave., Sioux Falls). Also needed are new jewelry items (necklaces, bracelets, earrings, hair bands and combs, etc.), small purses, new, clean prom shoes, and other accessories. Monetary gifts are also helpful. Details.
Volunteer: Ladies (18 years and older, and out of high school) are needed Friday evening between 4:30 and 9:30 pm and Saturday beginning at 8:30 am. From personal attendants to dress runners, you can give your time in a variety of ways. Learn more.
The OPD experience is special for all the girls who attend. Read some of their comments.
