Life 96.5 March Hands & Feet “On a Roll” with Necessities for Neighbors!
Remember when toilet paper came in at least 4 different colors? Or how about when you snuck into someone’s yard to pitch a few rolls over the treetops? Now that you’re older, TP can still be fun! Hear us out, now.
During March, Life 96.5 invites you to be part of an important ministry to families in our community. It’s called Necessities for Neighbors.
While many programs are in place to feed the hungry, the need continues to emerge for the items that food stamps cannot buy. Necessities for Neighbors relies on donations to help meet the need for essential things like toilet paper, diapers, feminine hygiene products and laundry detergent. Peace Lutheran Church began their once-a-month distribution as an additional source of help, and now well over 200 local families get the items they need. On March 5, a total of 391 families were served! Distributions are the first Sunday of each month from 3-4 pm.
During March, let’s work together to help! Here’s what we can do:
- Donate packages of toilet paper! THOUSANDS of rolls are actually needed each month! Let’s come together and see if we can get 2,000 rolls of toilet paper! If you can donate a 4-pack, 9-pack, 12-pack, or even a 24-pack, we will count each individual roll toward our goal. It’s such a simple but super important way we can help our neighbors. Maybe your small group, classroom, or co-workers would like to team up to collect toilet paper. Let’s see if we can reach or even surpass the 2,000 roll goal! When you’re ready to donate, bring rolls of TP to Sunshine Foods, 530 S. Second St., downtown Sioux Falls, open from 6 am to 10 pm every day. You can also donate at the Life 96.5 Studios, at Peace Lutheran Church or East Side Lutheran Church.
- Volunteer at the distribution on Sunday, April 2 at Peace Lutheran Church. You can be the hands and feet of Jesus when you give your time and help hand out the items at the monthly distribution event! Families are welcome, but kids under age 14 need to work alongside a parent/adult. We need just 30 volunteers. If you want to volunteer April 2 from 2:30-4:00 pm, register using the form below.
So neat to see the different groups in the community getting involved…
