During February, we can show Christ’s love in action by serving at Sallie’s Table!
Hunger is the biggest issue facing low income families, seniors, and the homeless in Sioux Falls. Salvation Army’s feeding program Sallie’s Table provides hot meals to individuals and families in need each Saturday and Sunday in their location at 800 N. Cliff Avenue.
While there are other feeding programs offered during the week, Sallies Table fills a gap when other agencies are closed on the weekend and ensures people can receive a meal on Saturday and Sunday evening.
Approximately 300 to 400 meals are served each weekend! Lots of volunteers are needed to help with this ongoing meal program. From 4 to 6 people are needed to volunteer for each meal time. Volunteers may also help by staying after the meal. Would you like to serve? Life 96.5 has agreed to fill the volunteer spots each Saturday and Sunday during the month of February. Volunteers should be 16 and older, and are needed between 3 and 7 pm. The 4-hour shift can be divided into Prep (3:00 to 4:45 pm) and Serving (4:45 to 7:00 pm) or you can volunteer for the entire shift.
The dates for volunteering with Life 96.5 are Saturdays and Sundays:
3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, and 25.
Ready to volunteer? Grab a friend, or an entire group (no more than 6 total) and sign up! You can connect with Sallie’s Table on Facebook, by calling Marcie Priestley 605-338-6649 ext 317 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
You will be contacted by Sallie’s Table and given further instructions. Thank you for being the Hands and Feet of Jesus during February!
