During July and early August, Life 96.5 joined forces with The Banquet SOS Backpack Program, Prairie View Prevention Services, and Samaritan’s Feet to bring awareness to three events on August 18 to help bring resources to Sioux Empire families and help them get a great start to the upcoming school year. Thank you for generously donating backpacks, school supplies, packaged socks, packaged underwear, and new athletic shoes for kids in our community!

Because of your kindness, The Banquet’s Project: SOS distributed 5,525 brand new backpacks filled with school supplies to children whose families have limited resources. WOW! We are amazed once again at the way YOU stepped up to help!  Families who missed the August 18 distribution can also come to The Banquet on Thursday, August 23rd from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm or Friday, August 24th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Children must be present with an adult and have some form of identification with them.

At the Celebrating Families Free Back to School event, Prairie View Prevention Services handed out 1,344 pairs of socks and underwear and served 1,000 hot dogs! The event went very smoothly and many families were able to gain valuable information and education.

Samaritan’s Feet served 1,505 children with brand new shoes from three locations. This year’s shoe drive brought in 325 pairs of athletic shoes between all of the drop off locations. Thank you!

Your generosity with time and resources has given many families a boost as they begin another school year! Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus.
