Freedom Conference - Women's Retreat

6:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Be Free from False Identity, Bitterness, Fear, and Striving and lean on the Savior that cares for you. Join the ladies for a weekend of uplifting sessions and time to connect with the gals! Speakers are Jill Miller and Rachel Barrentine. Rachel is a Singer/Songwriter/Speaker who ignites fresh faith through music, speaking, writing, and laughter. Her journey through 20+ years of persistent illness has deepened her faith, music, and messages. Full of joy, Jesus, coffee, and colonoscopies, Rachel loves to challenge women to get their brave on. She lives in Nashville, TN with her brainy husband, Derek, and their beloved old dog, Joey Smiley Wiggle Socks. Jill has been called the “Energizer Bunny” more times than she can remember. It’s probably because she has a zest for life that’s contagious and loves sharing how God has worked in her life. Through her music ministry, she shares her personal struggles honestly and never pretends to have all the answers or have it together. She’s simply a friend telling her story, hoping it will touch your heart, encourage you in your struggles, and inspire you to keep moving forward and reaching for your full potential. Tech & Family Night

7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Harrisburg United Methodist Church will have a Tech and Family discussion Sunday, October 21 at 7:00 p.m. to kick off a Bible study centered around the book Right Click:  Parenting Your Teen in a Digital Age.  Most of us find ourselves fumbling through things our parents didn’t have to manage – screen time, social media, and access at the touch of a fingertip.  Pastor Dave Decker, Jr. with Lights Out will lead the discussion.  Dave has been a youth pastor in Sioux Falls for over 25 years and has guided kids as they grow up in this age of ever-changing technology – the only constant in 25 years of ministry is change.  He’ll help navigate raising kids who seek to invest their time loving Jesus and others in the midst of a time that electronics constantly beg for their attention…. and ours! More information is available online at http://harrisburgumc.com/2018/10/16/family-and-tech-night/
