Ya, I know God’s timing is perfect. But I always appreciate it when he gives me a little reminder. I read Rick Warren’s Purpose Driven Life years ago, but just recently started to “reread” it through audio books.
Day five said that nothing we do on earth is insignificant. He sees and remembers if we were polite in a difficult situation, how we handle delayed promises of His, how we acted when we sense God is not near, how we loved, how we shared Jesus with others, how we took criticism and on and on.
I have to tell you that it made me stop in my tracks. I’ve always known God sees everything we do, but what a wake up call to know we will stand face to face one day with God and answer to every action in our lives.
I have found that some of the toughest situations for me to show kindness to, sadly, is among other Christians. It has been hard for me to show grace and mercy to those I’ve felt judged by. Then those bad vibes spread, there’s hurt feelings, walls get put and and relationships get destroyed!
But todays Life 96.5 Life Promise brought it all home for me. It ‘s Hebrews 6:10 – “For God is not unfair. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love for him by caring for other Christians.”
So be kind, gracious and loving especially when it’s difficult. There’s a date circled on your calendar that you’ll be glad you did!
