From Family Visitation Center (FVC) Director Luke Comeau:
LIFE 96.5 friends and family, you are FANTASTIC! You are SO generous! YOU are a blessing!
Your response to May’s Hands and Feet opportunity astonished us. We had the joy of watching a month-long parade of Birthday-In-A-Bag offerings come through our front door. With over 150 bags donated in May, children currently served by Family Visitation Center – as well as those who will come through our doors in the coming months – will have the joy-filled opportunity to celebrate their special day with mom and/or dad and other family members. This would not be possible without the outpouring of your generous hearts.
We received bags from families, individuals, students, sororities, athletes, Bible study groups, businesses, churches, and children who had previously been served by FVC! What a blessing to watch the gleam in the eyes of a former foster child as she described the selection process that went into assembling each bag – one for a boy, one for a girl. She was beyond proud to deliver these to us with her adoptive mom. You can’t put a price on the satisfaction that both the “giver” and the “receiver” receive…not to mention us observers!
Bags were dropped off at Life 96.5, each of the six Sioux Falls Lewis Drug Stores, and our front door. In addition to the themed plates, cups, utensils, napkins, table covers, party favors, streamers, candles, toys, gift cards, balloons, party hats, bubbles, banners, you packed each bag with hope and love! Families throughout the Sioux Empire have and will continue to experience that love and hope as they unpack each bag, stand in awe at the door of a decorated room, swing at a piñata, and blow out birthday candles. Thank you for being ambassadors of hope! We are humbled. We are able to do what we do because of you!
THANK YOU for being the hands and feet of Jesus!
