Throughout June, Life 96.5 invited you to be the hands and feet of Jesus along with Sioux Falls Habitat for Humanity. During an intensive 2-week build by volunteer RV Care-A-Vanners from all across the U.S., snacks and meals were needed for them at the build site. We invited you to sign up for a time and date to provide food, to deliver and serve it at the site, and then spend a little time, if possible, welcoming and visiting with the volunteers.
It only took about 10 days to fill up the 20 available spots on the volunteer schedule!
Thanks to 16 different individuals, groups, and organizations for coming together to help bless these amazing men and women while they served families in our community.
From Leanne Williams, Habitat Volunteer Coordinator:
“The Habitat Care-A-Vanners arrived in Sioux Falls on Sunday, June 19. They came from Tennessee, Arkansas, and North Carolina. An individual from Sioux Falls also participated. He travels across the country on various Care-A-Vanner projects and wanted to join the group for a local build. Their primary task was foundation work. They placed block and poured cement. They also painted an entire house (2 coats!) that we have been working on inside our Annex. In addition to their daily build activities, they were also able to attend a home dedication ceremony, which was a first for many of them. They are typically involved in the beginning stages of these builds are rarely get to participate in the thrill of presenting a home buyer partner with the keys to their new home. During their down time, they took advantage of many of the sights of Sioux Falls; visiting Falls Park, attending the Peach festival, touring downtown and the sculpture walk, etc. They wrapped up their build on Friday, July 1. They were extremely humbled by the generosity of all the food volunteers and were also very appreciative! Thank you, Life 96.5 and your listeners for your support-we are very grateful!”
Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus! Learn about other ways you can help Habitat for Humanity!
