During April we invited you to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the life of a student through their school social worker. By donating gift cards that the social workers could use to meet immediate needs, you are making a difference!
From Traci Jensen at the Sioux Falls School District offices:
“I would first like to start off by thanking you for once again supporting the students and families of the Sioux Falls School District. I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the generosity each of the listeners who have blessed our students. We have received over $1,500.00 in donated gift cards and cash that we will use year-round to support the students in our District, with an emphasis on eliminating barriers to education.”
“Some of the items purchased throughout the year with the cards include hygiene products, socks, underwear, shoes, weather appropriate clothing items, work clothes for high school students, and winter gear. We also occasionally have a need for products such as skin creams when a student may present with a rash, or for over the counter medications when a parent cannot afford to purchase the item. Over the counter medications are provided directly to the parent so they are able to administer them to their child. The Sioux Falls School District has received an assortment of gift cards including gas stations, grocery stores, convenience stores, drug stores, and general Visa cards that can be used anywhere. We have also received cards for free meal items at local restaurants, which are great to provide for incentives to students.”
Thanks again for donating so generously! You are truly the hands and feet of Jesus.
Gift cards are received with gratitude anytime during the year! For more information contact Traci.Jensen@k12.sd.us. Thank you!
