What an amazing gift for the people at Union Gospel Mission and the people who are homeless in our community. This summer, YOU made a huge difference in their lives by providing donations of bottled water to help them stay hydrated during the heat of summer.
To date and the best of our counting, 11,773 bottles have been given! And they get set out and handed out almost as soon as they arrive at the Mission.
“I’m floored,” says Mission Director Eric Weber. “You have shown full-on love to people you don’t even know! It took effort on your part to think about donating water, and then the effort of going to the store and doing it. We value that. Thank you.”
For those who walk by the mission, the bottled water was placed outside the door for them to take as needed. All summer long. Eric says he would often take cases of water to the homeless living outdoors as well. Just this week, he brought two cases to people who are homeless and camping along the river in Sioux Falls. The water is a simple reminder of the power of something so small but so life impacting. And Eric (who is a pastor) shares the gospel and prays during each encounter. He doesn’t stay long, just lets people know there is heart in our community and it is reaching toward those in need. Thank you for being a part of the good that comes from the ministry of the Union Gospel Mission in Sioux Falls this summer.
“I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:35, 40
