Throughout January, hundreds of winter hats and scarves, mittens and gloves, and even warm socks were shared to help warm immigrants new to the Sioux Falls area. As men, women and children come to Caminando Juntos for information and assistance, they are blessed because of the donations of the cold-weather accessories from YOU and the Life 96.5 community.
Thanks to the sponsorship of First Premier Bank, many people in need are benefitting from the kindness of their neighbors. Over 500 items were collected in January!
From Jen Rothenbuehler, the Presentation Sisters’ representative for Caminando Juntos:
“Thank you so much for the overwhelming response and generosity of the Sioux Empire as they helped warm our neighbors during this cold and snow South Dakota winter! We can’t thank enough the support of the community, our drop off locations and partners, and sponsors.”
Who is benefitting from the donations?
A single mom and her two kids moved to the Sioux Empire from a state with warm temperatures. The knew it was winter here, but never expected a day that was below zero. They were provided with coats, gloves, scarves and hats, thanks to Warm A Neighbor and are so grateful to be warm and welcomed!
