Alive & Breathing Lyrics

What holds your heart
What stirs your soul
What matters comes to mind
The cares you keep
The thoughts you think
It’s not all wasted time
Seek and you will find

Joy still comes in the morning
Hope still walks with the hurting
If you’re still alive and breathing
Praise the Lord

Don’t stop dancing and dreaming
There’s still good news worth repeating
So lift your head and keep singing
Praise the Lord

Years roll by
We wonder why
We lost our way from home
Our Father finds
The child inside
We had left for growing old
Awake, awake, awake my soul

Joy still comes in the morning
Hope still walks with the hurting
If you’re still alive and breathing
Praise the Lord
Don’t stop dancing and dreaming
There’s still good news worth repeating
So lift your head and keep singing
Praise the Lord

Let everything, let everything, let everything
Praise the Lord
In the working, in the waiting
Praise the Lord
In the blessing, in the breaking
Praise the Lord
In the dying, the rising
Praise the Lord

Joy still comes in the morning
Hope still walks with the hurting
If you’re still alive and breathing
Praise the Lord
Don’t stop dancing and dreaming
There’s still good news worth repeating
So lift your head and keep singing
Praise the Lord

One story about "Alive & Breathing"

  • Miranda Hoff says:

My near death experience , which I call my new beginning, has been resonating with everything I see or hear, for the last 3 years. Some songs more than others, but I feel something died inside of me that night, and the hope of the potential morning, if I made it out alive after being given a drug,, and alot of it, paralyzing me, and oveerdosing, but being in and out of consciousness, and hyperaware of my surroundings, which were those that I humbly discovered weren’t trying to help my twitching body, they thought I was dying, and showed no empathy whatsoever. Finding the faith, (I didn’t know I lacked) but found quickly, as I was refusing to giveup, and His grace gave me the comfort and patience to stay hopeful and that I would eventually be mobile again. God always wins. I already knew that, I had to have alot of faith in Him, and He saved me from ending up in a ditch, that night. I had to believe to see, again, because my memory of a Spiritual Encounter in 1999, was too conditioned by mental health diagnosing, for 22 years, but for good reason, clearly. The joyful moment of getting in the Uber that morning,, and shutting the car door was indescribable, joyful is an understatemnt.
